Irma Fernandez to be inducted into Edward Alexander Bouchet Graduate Honor Society

Irma Fernandez (Class of 2016) is one of five Cornell graduate students selected for induction into the Edward Alexander Bouchet Graduate Honor Society.  This nomination recognizes her outstanding scholarly achievement and work in promoting diversity and excellence in doctoral education.  Read the Cornell Chronicle story here.

MBG Graduate Students Advance Diversity & Inclusion Through MBG Diversity Council

 

Graduate students in the MBG graduate programs established the MBG Diversity Council. The mission of this group is to promote, enhance and expand the diversity of the MBG community. They initiate and support programing that promotes inclusivity in the Department. Marissa Baccas awarded HHMI Gilliam Fellowship

Marissa BaccasMarissa Baccas (Class of 2018) has been awarded a Gilliam Fellowship from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI).  This program seeks to increase a more diverse community of scientific researchers and is awarded to people who will become leaders in science and will actively support that goal.  Marissa is mentored by Kelly Liu in the Department of Molecular Biology & Genetics.  Learn more about this award.
